** Bsnl uses different setting for different zones, these setting are for north zone (North zone server is located in Chandigarh and handles north zone customer’s account data)

Tips:

• You can use any webpage as your home page for WAP & GPRS . But for Portal service use homepage as specified here only.
• For mms you must use MMS Server as given here only.
• These setting are tested in UP East and work fine.

Definitions:-

1-Portal:- Service for the access of operator’s homepage only on mobile. The APN used by portal service generally do not allow access to any other website (eg. BSNL Portals). If they allow access to any other websites, then encrypted (secure) connection is not allowed (eg. Airtel Portal). Vodafone is the only operator who allow any website, any java application and encrypted (secure connection) through its portal’s APN.

2-WAP:- Service for the access of Any website on mobile. The APN used for WAP may be different from the APN used for portal servive (eg. BSNL) or may be similer to the APN used for portal service (eg. Vodafone). If apn for portal and wap are different then it may have some restriction as explained above.

3-GPRS:- Service for the access of any website on mobile and PC. APN for this service is always different from that of portal and WAP. Generally, this APN do not have any proxy server and connect user directly to the internet.
